GAMA: QI Business Jet Shipments Off From 2011
The General Aviation Manufacturers Association said worldwide general aviation shipments in the first quarter fell 2.1%. GAMA also noted that business jet shipments of 122 units, were down 4.7% from last year’s 128 units.

Cessna Announces Long-Range Citation Business Jet
Cessna announced its newest and longest-range business jet, the Citation Longitude at the European Business Aviation Convention. Cessna said at a price of $26 million, it believes the Longitude is the best value 4,000-nautical mile super mid-size business jet available.

Bombardier’s Business Jet Recovery Shows Bigger is Better
Bloomberg noted in a story that Bombardier’s large and mid-size jets are leading a recovery in business aircraft sales as U.S. corporations upgrade their fleets with cash stockpiled after the 2008-2009 financial crisis.

General Dynamics: Gulfstream Demand Continued in Q1
General Dynamics reported that healthy demand for Gulfstream aircraft continued in the first quarter with particularly strong interest among North American customers. Large business aircraft unit deliveries were up from 39 in 2011 to 43 in the latest quarter.

Hawker Beechcraft Preparing to File Bankruptcy
Reuters is reporting that aircraft maker Hawker Beechcraft is preparing to file for bankruptcy protection in the next several weeks. The aircraft maker is currently working with its lenders under a forbearance agreement that is scheduled to expire June 29, 2012.

Ex-Im Bank Predicts ‘Golden Age’ for Business Jet Finance
Flightglobal.com reported that Ex-Im Bank financed $250M for 25 business aircraft purchases last year, only 2% of all aircraft financed by the bank in 2011. However, Bob Morin, Ex-Im’s transportation VP predicts a shift in asset allocation in favor of the business jet market over the coming years.

Hawker Beechcraft Reports Q3 Loss on Fewer Deliveries

Honeywell: $230B New Business Jet Deliveries Through 2021
In its latest Business Aviation Outlook, Honeywell notes new net orders of business jets were up at most OEMs while cancellations abated significantly. In its long-term outlook Honeywell expects a moderate recovery with up to 10,000 aircraft worth $230 billion projected from 2011-2021.
