De Lage Landen’s Analytics Guru Sets Out on Kayak Journey
De Lage Landen’s Fal de Saint Phalle, vice president and manager of decision analytics – Region Americas, is celebrating his recent retirement by loading up a kayak named Katie and heading out on a 1,000-mile journey down the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway to visit his home in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL.
de Saint Phalle is retiring after 16 plus years with DLL, but is “expecting to continue supporting the company on various projects in 2012 and beyond,” he told the Monitor in a recent interview.
As the decision analytics guru related during the interview, this is not the first time he’s ventured out to be with Mother Nature having walked over 4,000 miles from his former home in West Chester, PA to Seattle, WA 17 years ago – it took about 11 months to complete the trip de Saint Phalle said. On this current trip, which launched on Sunday, September 9th, de Saint Phalle said he’s fully expecting to be home in time for Thanksgiving.
Editors Note: de Sainte Phalle will be featured in the upcoming Fall Conference issue of the Monitor having authored an article on “Project ‘No Touch’ – thoughts on a 100% automated credit scoring and decisioning process for commercial small ticket leasing applications.”
