GE Aviation joint venture CFM International was recognized by Boeing as its Propulsion Supplier of the Year, the Cincinnati Business Courier reported.
The award is based on CFM meeting or exceeding quality, on-time delivery, post-delivery support and affordability goals, and demonstrating the ability to anticipate and respond to changing requirements.
“These supplier-partners performed exceptionally well last year — in ways that differentiated them,” Jim McNerney, Boeing chairman and CEO, said in a news release. “They helped us provide our customers with more capability for less cost in today’s dynamic environment. We look to their partnership in the future to keep Boeing at the forefront of technology, innovation, productivity and affordability.”
CFM, a 50/50 joint venture between GE Aviation and Snecma (Safran) has delivered more than 13,650 CFM56 engines to Boeing since it became the sole engine supplier of the Boeing 737 Classic, Cincinnati Business Courier reported.
