In a recent article on “The Most Popular Business Jets”, the Motley Fool provides commentary on the three most popular business jet manufacturers and explains why there are more reasons than just luxury to fly on a private jet.
The Fool notes, for example, that Textron’s Cessna segment’s most popular business jet is the 525C Citation CJ4, which sells for about $9.0 million, according the Corporate Jet Investor.
General Dynamics’ Gulfstream unit, which had its second-best year on record, touts its large cabin business jet lineup that includes the Gulfstream 450, 550 and 650 that sell in a price range of about $39.0 million to $65.0 million, the Fool says according to the Business Insider.
Bombardier delivered 180 business jets in 2013 that included its popular Global 5000 and 6000 aircraft. The Fool said, according to several sources, the approximate price for the 5000 and 6000 was said to be $48.0 million and $60.0 million, respectively.
In terms of economic impact, the Fool notes that business aviation contributes $150 billion annually to the U.S. economy and employs more than 1.2 million people in the U.S.
