NC Physician Accused of Identity Theft to Obtain Equipment Financing



According to a post by The Asheboro Courier-Tribune, physician Dr. Imran Pasha Haque will spend three years on probation and pay a fine as terms of a plea agreement reached in the Middle District Court of NC.

According to the report, Haque was charged with four counts of obtaining property by false pretense, two counts of financial identity fraud and four counts of forgery.

The Tribune said, according to the bill of information, that the accused “did knowingly and with intent to deceive did falsely represent, using another physician’s social security number, for the purpose of obtaining financing for medical equipment from GE Capital Healthcare Financial Services.”
