Christine Vaughn, VP, Business Development, Financial Pacific Leasing

Christine Vaughn knows how important it is to be an impactful leader. As vice president of business development at Financial Pacific Leasing, she manages a team responsible for the growth and support of third-party originator relationships, Vaughn has been with the company for 23 years. She began her tenure with the firm by spending 16 years with the funding department, providing valuable experience for later roles, such as when she became a relationship manager in business development in 2015. Then, in 2018, she was promoted to vice president and manager of the entire business development department.

Being a leader, cheering on and empowering others is fulfilling for Vaughn, who says she’s glad to witness many talented people in the equipment finance industry show that when empowered, anyone can have an impact on the successes of the company. She also says her biggest accomplishment in the last year is having the opportunity to successfully lead an impactful and resolute team.

Vaughn developed her desire to manage after experiencing her first opportunity to train team members at Financial Pacific Leasing in 2005. She says it was not only eye opening as it related to her own abilities, but showed her what those around her were capable of doing when challenged to rise to the occasion, She believes in being transparent, innovative and an ambassador of change and support for those who rely on her. Vaughn feels she is only as good as the team she is a part of, so she focuses on gaining trust, fostering commitment and encouraging growth for her team.

With several role models within Financial Pacific Leasing, Vaughn has taken notice of the leadership traits of those around her and how they provide good examples of the type of leader and supporter she wants to be. She appreciates the company’s belief in inclusion for the benefit of identifying untapped talent, including her own, as well as the importance of learning how to effectively manage and mentor others.

Vaughn says she is grateful to all the leaders, companies and associations that continue to work hard to place focus on bringing all professionals in the equipment finance industry together to share knowledge and guidance and provide the support necessary for her success and the success of others who look to her for guidance. Vaughn hopes to continue a career in such a diverse and supportive industry for years to come.

“Christine shows unwavering dedication to her colleagues, her customers and the company. Her tenacity and fearlessness when rolling up her sleeves and working hard easily garners the respect of all who know her. Her excellent service started in funding and transitioned into best-in-class as leader of the business development team,” Laura Carini, senior vice president of operations at Financial Pacific Leasing, says.
