Credit Analyst: Middle-Market Leasing – IL

Chicago Metro area (In-Office)

Our client, a Chicago based bank Lessor, is seeking to hire an experienced middle-market leasing credit analyst to join their team in the Chicago Metro area office.

The Equipment Finance Middle-Market Senior Credit Analyst processes and underwrites middle-market commercial lease applications in a fast paced and high-volume sales environment, while helping to manage the quality of the lease portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processes credit applications and underwrites credit for commercial lease applications according to published Policy and Product/Underwriting standards in a timely and accurate manner
  • Makes conforming credit decisions, evaluating risk based on credit applications, business, and personal credit reports, public records and borrowing references
  • Reviews and approves vendors supplying equipment to be leased or financed
  • Accurately executes credit decisions in the system
  • Meets or exceeds credit decision turnaround time standards
  • Initiates verbal and written communication within the Equipment Finance Middle-Market Leasing Department, vendors and originators
  • Prepares and presents credit approval summaries to EVP or other designated supervisors within the Bank, and external origination partners
  • Utilizes strong time management skills to work in fast-paced environment
  • Helps maintain the Division’s credit, documentation and funding policies


  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university preferably in a business-related discipline or equivalent work experience
  • At least 5 years credit underwriting experience. Must have a strong understanding and knowledge of lease financing, middle-market commercial equipment finance credit underwriting and lease documentation
  • Must be able to balance maintaining credit quality with reasonable exceptions in a sales-oriented environment
