We also partner with other lenders to create a cascading credit continuum allowing our partners to offer a full credit suite to their respective customers.

Job responsibilities

As part of the leadership team and reporting to the Managing Partner of TFS, in collaboration with the other senior leaders and partners, the Director, Business Development of Partner Programs will be responsible and accountable for the growth of TFS’ business in Partner Programs. The position will focus on identifying opportunities within our current markets as well as help create new growth strategies in areas of cascading credit and captive finance programs with a focus on new commercial agreements and joint venture opportunities, not yet developed.

  1. Discover, qualify and commit new customers and partners to all the services offered at TFS, with the express goal of expanding, developing and monetizing our business lines in Canada and US:
      Identify present and future business opportunities with new customers in the captive finance or cascading credit markets
    • New business development by prospecting, qualifying, and closing new partner programs
    • Co-manage onboarding new programs you developed in new markets and co-manage the ongoing relationships
    • Use your existing network within the commercial equipment space for opportunities and partnerships
    • Work with the leadership team to negotiate transactions and deal structuring with thoroughness and attention to detail, while also effectively meeting deadlines and managing complex and heavy workloads
    • Work with leadership team to gather documentation and information for post-closing monitoring of programs and service level agreements
    • Assist in developing and execute the company’s sales strategy to achieve sales targets and revenue goals.
  2. Build out the design and strategy for related net new partnerships, joint ventures, and referral arrangements:
    • Author formal business plans and memorandums
    • Develop and publish strategies to grow our current sector penetration
    • Identify new markets and sectors to drive additional growth
    • Operationalize new programs in collaboration with the leadership and operations teams
    • Design and publish metrics and analytics to best support partnerships and overall customers
    • Design a composition and analysis of in-depth financial models to support the growth of the business
  3. Relationship management – nurture and develop relationships with key customer accounts:
    • Develop strong business relationships with both senior management and day to day contacts in all markets that TFS can serve
    • Work with management in developing compelling solutions for client and marketplace requirements
    • Provide business advice in a consultative and effective manner
    • Address customer issues/concerns in an accurate and timely manner
    • Work closely with clients to understand the business needs and to explore opportunities for growth
    • Maintain strong relationships with existing customers for business retention
    • Stay abreast of recent industry trends and share insight gained from sector with colleagues with internal stakeholders to position the broader group for success and to aid in new product development initiatives
  4. Reporting – measure, monitor and report:
    • Measure and monitor performance
    • Set goals
    • Identify problems and highlight opportunities
    • Conduct business reviews with clients on a periodic basis by providing insight to customers

Qualifications, knowledge and experience

  • A strong sense of integrity, professionalism and a results-oriented attitude to continually improve processes and systems, enhance efficiency, and contribute to overall organizational success

  • Proven track record in sourcing, analysis, partner management, negotiation, due diligence and successfully closing in any of the above
  • Advanced communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional ability to develop and cultivate strategic relationships
  • Proven track record of developing long term relationships
  • Have the ability and proven track record to work at the C suite level through to mid level management
  • Extensive and existing relationships in the equipment finance or supporting lender community with experience in obtaining and completing RFI and RFPs related to our services or like type services
  • Particular focus working with lenders as a vendor and partner for services in the asset backed lending space as well as partnership with major national vendors and/or dealers
  • Must have B2B and B2C sales experience as vendor or lender to the commercial equipment sector
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • 5+ years of sales management experience
  • Knowledge of SalesForce is an asset
  • University degree in a related field (Economics, Commerce, or Finance)
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and negotiate effectively with customers and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in using CRM systems, sales analytics tools, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to travel as needed to meet with customers, and attend industry events
