Role: Vice President, Business Development

Odessa is looking for a growth-minded business development professional who is passionate about driving large, enterprise software solutions through the sales cycle. You’ll have the opportunity to hunt for new business, play a key role in solving complex problems and selling mission critical solutions.

The candidate will be a key quota-carrying individual with both quarterly ARR and Professional Services sales targets. In this position, you will work closely with sales leadership, solution engineering, marketing, product management, and delivery to lead go-to-market efforts for Odessa within your named accounts to drive brand awareness and acquire new logo clients. This is a hunting role.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy that results in closing new business and achieving quarterly sales targets
  • Build and retain commercial relationships with key executives and senior management at your named accounts
  • Leverage value-based and insight selling techniques to penetrate and develop direct opportunities within the new logo target market
  • Own the full selling lifecycle including prospect outreach, pitches, qualification, RFx responses, demos/workshops, formal pricing proposals, deal structuring, contracting, and negotiations for large ticket enterprise software deals
  • Work closely with marketing to design and execute on various types of marketing strategies across all stages of the funnel
  • Provide product/market feedback back to engineering to continuously improve the customer experience
  • Maintain detailed and actionable notes in Salesforce on all activity/personnel with your accounts

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in enterprise software sales, preferably within the commercial banking and OEM space. Experience within leasing and/or commercial lending a plus.
  • Track record of exceeding assigned new logo sales quotas across multiple years
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong business acumen and C-suite level gravitas
  • An aptitude for understanding how technology products and solutions solve business problems and how to present value wedges versus the competitive landscape
  • Ability to learn all the functions, use cases, and complexity of a software platform/product and distill them into clear and insightful clear technical and functional value cases
  • An understanding of various software implementation methodologies and best practices (Agile, Waterfall, etc.)
  • Passion for results and performance oriented: The ability to find creative solutions and generate results in a dynamic, high growth environment. Will have a strong sense of urgency and the ability to infuse that in others.
  • Critical thinking and the ability to synthesize competitive trends, market data and customer /consumer insights into a plan of action.
