Sr. Equipment Valuations Analyst


Parsippany, NJ; Mt Laurel, NJ; or Jacksonville, FL.

TIAA Bank – As a part of TIAA’s Retail & Institutional Financial Services business, TIAA Bank, a division of TIAA, FSB, provides full-service, nationwide banking and lending services to consumer, commercial and institutional clients through a variety of channels, including online, its Florida-based financial centers and at other business offices throughout the country.

The Senior Valuations Analyst will report to ECF’s Asset Manager, Valuations, and will assist in conducting in-depth collateral/market analysis of existing residual exposure, participate in reviews/updates of residual policy and assist with researching new collateral/markets to make accurate residual value recommendations on new programs and collateral types.

Essential functions

  • Perform collateral/market analysis of existing residual exposure and review/update residual positions quarterly or as frequently as needed.
  • Complete white paper analysis on collateral types and industry segments supporting the overall residual policy including competitors, technology, methodology, and positions.
  • Research new collateral/markets to participate in residual value recommendations on new programs and collateral types as well as lease/portfolio acquisitions.
  • Provide residual positions on special bids and exception transactions as needed within approval guidelines.
  • Appraise collateral value in new markets and one-off transactions to project OLV/FLV curves.
  • Provide mark to market valuations and participate in mark to market review process.
  • Participate in impairment testing following approved methodology.
  • Assist with policy compliance initiatives and provide support on projects where appropriate.

Knowledge, skills, and ability requirements

  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong PC skills involving modeling and forecasting.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Exceptional level of integrity.
  • Work constructively with all aspects of the organization.

Training and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Engineering/Business/Finance/Math/Statistics or seven (7) years as a valuations professional within the leasing industry.
  • Four (4) years of experience in asset management
  • Experience setting residual values in various asset classes such as Construction, Transportation, Healthcare, Office Technology and Machine Tools
  • American Society of Appraisers certification is a plus.
