ACT Research: September Medium Duty Orders Up 19% from August

According to the preliminary data from ACT Research, there were 20,400 Classes 5-7 net vehicle orders booked in September. Preliminary numbers for Class 8 were released earlier this month at 13,900 units.

“Because of its limited exposure to the freight economy, the Classes 5-7 market continues to distinguish itself from the Class 8 market,” said Steve Tam, ACT’s vice president. “Rising 2% year-to-date, medium duty net orders exemplified the solid, sustainable growth that has been typical of the consumer during this economic cycle.”
