Aviation Capital Group Takes Delivery of its Second Boeing 787 Dreamliner

Aviation Capital Group took delivery of its second Boeing 787 Dreamliner in Everett, WA. The aircraft, a Boeing 787-9, is on a long-term lease to LOT Polish Airlines, and is the first of three Boeing 787-9’s to be delivered from Aviation Capital’s orderbook and leased to LOT Polish Airlines. The remaining two aircraft are scheduled to deliver to LOT in April 2018 and February 2019.

“ACG is delighted to deliver the first 787-9 Dreamliner for entry into service with LOT Polish Airlines, one of the premier international airlines in Europe. We appreciate the opportunity to work with Rafal Milczarski, LOT’s CEO, in expanding the airline’s fleet to this larger Dreamliner variant. We wish the airline continued success and look forward to further supporting LOT’s fleet expansion plans,” said Khanh T. Tran, CEO of Aviation Capital.

“LOT is the first airline in Europe whose long-haul fleet consists only of Dreamliners. They are still considered to be the most state-of-the-art aircraft in the world offering unparalleled travel experience in its class. Dreamliner is the driver of even faster growth of LOT, in that way making us even a more competitive, modern and environmentally-friendly. I am convinced that the B787-9s will open a new chapter in our history, significantly increasing the number of seats on the existing, most popular routes. Boeing 787-9 will be perfect for our flagship flights to Chicago, New York or selected Asian destinations and will enable us to launch completely new routes as well. Investments in our fleet allow us to grow and gain the leading position on the market in the Central and Eastern Europe in real terms,” said Rafal Milczarski, the new CEO of LOT.

“We are pleased the Aviation Capital Group purchase of the 787 Dreamliner will further enable its success as a leading lessor,” said Jeremy Griffin, senior vice president of Global Leasing Sales for Boeing Commercial Airplanes. “As the preferred choice of airlines globally, the 787 provides superior capability and efficiency for network profitability. These advantages result in the asset versatility lessors require for long term value.”

Aviation Capital Group is a full-service aircraft asset manager with 439 owned, managed and committed aircraft as of December 31, 2017, which are leased to approximately 95 airlines in approximately 45 countries.
