Avolon Acquires 45 Aircraft from GE Capital Aviation Services

International aircraft leasing company Avolon will acquire a portfolio of 45 aircraft from GE Capital Aviation Services. Avolon’s owned, managed and committed fleet at the end of Q2/16 was 443 aircraft, including the 45 aircraft noted above.

The 45 aircraft, which are scheduled to be delivered to Avolon in the second half of 2016, are on lease to 29 airlines in 15 countries.

Avolon said the portfolio is consistent with its current portfolio of young, modern and fuel-efficient aircraft and includes both current and new technology aircraft. The deal also brings 15 new customers to Avolon.

In a separate news release, Avolon announced the delivery of 11 aircraft to seven customers in Q2/16. The firm also increased its committed debt facilities by around half a billion dollars, strengthening its balance sheet and adding extra liquidity for faster growth.
