BB&T announced that its Small Business and Middle Market banking groups have won 22 Greenwich Excellence Awards from Greenwich Associates. BB&T said the 22 awards include 17 in national categories and five regional awards. Since 2009 BB&T has earned 125 Greenwich Excellence Awards, more than any other bank.

The awards are based on interviews with more than 15,000 U.S. small businesses and nearly 13,000 middle-market companies. Of more than 750 banks evaluated, only 34 received Greenwich Excellence Awards in small business and 25 in the middle market.

“BB&T has never lost sight of its focus on small business and middle markets and we are delighted to receive this recognition from our clients,” said Ricky Brown, president, BB&T. “We believe that a client-focused strategy through our community banking structure serves our clients well.”

Among the 22 awards, BB&T received honors in “overall satisfaction” for small business and middle-market companies in both national and regional categories.
