The Wall Street Journal reported that the Federal Reserve has temporarily eased big banks’ capital requirements.
The Journal noted the Fed’s move will enable banks to exclude Treasurys and central bank deposits from supplementary leverage ratio calculations for one year.
The Journal reported that the Fed made it clear that this move was designed to improve access to credit, not increased payouts to shareholders.
