Boeing experienced a significant decline in aircraft deliveries in 2024, marking its lowest annual output since the COVID-19 pandemic. According to Bloomberg, the American aerospace manufacturer delivered 348 jets, representing a 35% year-over-year decrease and less than half of rival Airbus SE’s 766 deliveries.
The downturn follows a challenging year for Boeing, which grappled with a two-month labor strike, production delays and a near-catastrophic incident involving a 737 Max. These disruptions hindered the company’s ability to meet demand and maintain production schedules.
According to Bloomberg, Boeing reported 569 gross orders for the year, translating to 317 net sales after accounting for cancellations, deal conversions and at-risk contracts. Despite these figures, the gap between Boeing and Airbus has widened, with the European manufacturer extending its lead in global deliveries — a position it has maintained since 2018.
