CAT Global Construction Equipment Sales Improve Over Last 3 Months



Caterpillar reported global retail sales of construction industry machines for the three-month rolling period ended April 2017 were up 8% compared to 7% and 2% increases for the previous three-month periods ended March 2017 and February 2017, respectively. Caterpillar noted that the Asia/Pacific region was up 59% compared to the same three-month period in 2016.

North America construction industry machine retail sales were down 4% year-over-year in April 2017 compared to declines of 6% and 9% for the previous three month periods ended in March and February 2017, respectively.

Global retail sales of mining equipment for the three-month rolling period ended April 2017 were down 19% compared to declines of 19% and 7% for the previous three-month periods ended March and February 2017, respectively.

North America mining industry retail sales were down 13% for the three-month period ended in February 2017 compared to declines of 34% and 12% for the previous three-month periods ended in March and February 2017, respectively.
