Caterpillar Global Retail Machine Sales Up 12%



Retail sales of Caterpillar machines continued to climb for the three-month rolling period ending in July 2017, posting a worldwide increase of 12% compared to the same period in 2016. North American retail sales were up 4% on the same basis after rising 2% during the three-month period ended June 2017.

Retail sales of construction equipment were up 13% worldwide for the three-month period ended in July 2017 after rising 10% and 11% for the periods ended in June and May 2017. North American retail sales of construction equipment were up 6% after rising 5% and 4% during the three month periods ended in June and May of this year.

Retail sales of mining equipment worldwide for the three-month period ended in July were up 8% after being down 1% and 3% in the previous three-month periods ended in June and May 2017, respectively. Caterpillar noted retail sales of mining equipment were up 33% in the EAME region during the same period through July.
