CG Commercial Hires Williams as EVP, Credit/Risk Management

Shari Williams joined CG Commercial Finance in the role of EVP – credit and risk management. Williams will provide oversight to CG’s overall investment and risk management strategy and process. She will also be heavily involved in capital raising activities. Williams brings over 20 years of experience in commercial credit underwriting and risk management with 15 years of individual signing authority.

Prior to joining CG, Williams was the SVP, director of Credit and Risk for Sumitomo Mitsui Finance and Leasing. She also held credit and risk management roles with Emigrant Business Credit, Fairfield County Bank, SL Financial Services, Phoenixcor and People’s Capital and Leasing.

Since CG Commercial Finance was acquired by funds controlled by Atalaya Capital Management, the company has used its increased funding capabilities to expand direct originations and buy desk capabilities. The company is adding credit and risk expertise to support its growth.

“Shari Williams brings a wealth of experience in risk management and credit adjudication that is very aligned with our growth strategy. Adding her to the team is an important step as we continue to deploy balance sheet capital,” said W. Scott McCullum, president of CG Commercial Finance.
