CHG-MERIDIAN Wins Los Angeles Business Journal’s Sustainable Company of the Year Award

The Los Angeles Business Journal named CHG-MERIDIAN USA the HSBC sustainable company of the year. This award was given to the company with the most sustainable achievements in the greater Los Angeles area.

“Sustainability is incorporated into our business model and has been a core part of it for more than 40 years” Dr. Mathias Wagner, chairman of the board of management at CHG-MERIDIAN, said. “Nevertheless, in recent years, there has been an increasing awareness of sustainability by many corporations, including many of our customers. To fully address the changing and increasing customer requirements and to promote our sustainability efforts within the group, we developed a comprehensive sustainability strategy, including but not limited to specific sustainability goals, like our carbon footprint. From 2021, CHG-MERIDIAN will be carbon-neutral.”

“We offer technology management and financing with subsequent refurbishment in line with the principles of the resource-efficient circular economy,” Simon Harrsen, vice president of sales for CHG-MERIDIAN, who accepted the award on behalf of the company, said. “To enhance our sustainable offering even further, we developed carbonZER0 in 2021, which enables companies to make carbon-neutral IT investments by offsetting the carbon emissions that are generated during the production, transportation, use and end-of-lease phase of IT assets. By doing so, we can help our customers reduce their carbon footprint.”

Also included in CHG-MERIDIAN’s award submission were a few of its corporate sustainability goals, including:

  • Carbon-neutrality (corporate emissions) by 2021
  • Ongoing development of information security management to achieve ISO 27001 certification readiness by 2022
  • Training and application of the code of conduct to ensure compliance across the group and to combat corruption by 2022
  • Supplier assessment and standards for own procurement by 2023
  • Group-wide sustainability reporting with external audit by 2023
  • Increase the proportion of women in management positions to 30 % by 2025

CHG-MERIDIAN is a non-captive technology manager and financing expert in the IT, industrial and healthcare technology sectors.
