China Development Bank Leasing Aircraft Deal worth $12.6B

China Development Bank Financial Leasing signed agreements to buy 60 aircraft from Boeing and 45 planes from Airbus in deals totaling $12.6 billion at list prices.

The unit of state-owned China Development Bank placed orders for 42 Boeing 737 MAX 8, 10 Boeing 737 MAX 10, and eight Boeing 787-9 aircraft from Boeing, it said in a statement. The aggregate list price for the aircraft is about $7.4 billion.

The leasing company will also acquire 30 Airbus A320neo and 15 Airbus A321neo from Airbus, with an aggregate list price of about $5.2 billion.

The Boeing aircraft are scheduled to be delivered from 2019 to 2024, and the Airbus aircraft between 2022 and 2024.

The purchases will be funded through a mix of interbank borrowing, bonds, bank loans, pre-delivery payment financing, and other debt and equity financing, the company said.
