China’s COMAC C919 Nears Maiden Flight, Global Competition

Reuters reported that the Chinese-made COMAC C919 jet will make its maiden flight in the next few weeks as Beijing takes aim at competing in the global jet sales industry.

Reuters said that the aircraft has been delayed for three years and been in development for 10 years and faces the challenge of competing in a market dominated by Boeing and Airbus.

According to Reuters, GECAS is the C919’s only current foreign buyer.
