Chrappa of The Alta Group to Discuss Equipment Values in a Challenging Economy at ASA Conference

Carl C. Chrappa, senior managing director and asset management practice leader for The Alta Group, will lead off the machinery and technical specialties track of the American Society of Appraisers’ International Appraisers Conference on Oct. 25 at 9:30 a.m. PT with a presentation titled “What’s Hot/What’s Not in Equipment Leasing and Finance.”

“On the one hand, we are tracking positive equipment trends as the economy grows and rebounds from the pandemic,” Chrappa said. “But unemployment, political turmoil, supply chain disruption, inflation and high oil prices are negatively affecting valuations and outlooks for certain types of equipment.”

In the session, which will take place on the first day of the two-day conference in Las Vegas, Chrappa will review current market conditions, residual values, outlooks and ratings for 15 equipment types. The presentation will be an update of Chrappa’s What’s Hot/What’s Not reports for the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association and will include an economic overview to add perspective.

Chrappa is a registered auctioneer, expert witness and nationally (ASA) as well as internationally (MRICS) tested and accredited senior equipment appraiser with decades of experience.
