Climate First Bank Taps Prescott to Lead Growth in Volusia County

Climate First Bank has appointed Richard Prescott as First Vice President and Commercial Banker, tasking the seasoned banking professional with expanding the bank’s presence in DeLand and Volusia County.

Prescott brings more than 14 years of experience in commercial lending, including conventional mortgages and vacant land loans. He is also known for his deep ties to the local community and commitment to volunteerism, qualities that align with Climate First Bank’s mission of values-based, sustainable banking.

“I’m excited to join Climate First Bank and honored to contribute to its mission of values-based banking,” Prescott said in a statement. “My deep connections in Volusia County, especially DeLand, will help drive sustainable growth and positively impact the region.”

Prescott’s appointment is part of the bank’s strategic effort to increase its footprint in central Florida. Founded in 2021, Climate First Bank is the world’s first FDIC-insured digital community bank created to combat the climate crisis. It offers a full suite of traditional banking products, with a particular focus on sustainability-oriented clients and services.

“I am thrilled to welcome Richard to Climate First Bank,” said Lex Ford, the bank’s CEO and president. “I am confident Richard will help Climate First Bank become the bank in DeLand and Volusia County.”

Climate First Bank is a Certified B Corp and member of 1% for the Planet. It has been operationally net-zero since launch and reports annually on its impact and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
