Companies Puzzled Over CARES Act Aid Accounting



The Wall Street Journal reported that many companies are unsure about how to account for the financial relief they received from the CARES Act.

Regulators have provided little guidance when it comes to accounting for assistance, such as Payroll Protection Program loans, according to the Journal.

The Journal noted that companies are not required to disclose government assistance funds they receive, under current accounting rules.
