ELFA Forms Communications Committee; Names Carol Chair

The ELFA has formed a new Communications Committee to work with its Communications and Marketing Department in increasing awareness of the equipment finance industry. Public relations professional Susan Carol is the chairwoman of the new committee.

The committee’s mission is to support the external and internal communications interests of ELFA’s diverse membership across the U.S. by helping to ensure the association’s information channels and content are accessible, timely and easy-to-use. The committee is composed of marketing and public relations professionals representing bank, captive and independent lessors, as well as industry service providers.

It held its first meeting April 13 and focused primarily on providing feedback to the ELFA concerning a new Web site to be established that will provide new and “ever-green” educational resources for industry customers.

“We are so fortunate to have Susan Carol as chair of our new Communications Committee,” said Amy Vogt, ELFA vice president of Communications and Marketing and staff liaison to the group. “Susan’s expertise in communications, her knowledge of the equipment finance industry and her proven leadership skills will be a tremendous asset as we communicate to our internal and external audiences the many ways our $628 billion industry is equipping business for success.”

Carol was elected to the ELFA’s Board of Directors in October 2011. One of her roles within the Board will be to serve as a liaison on communications. She previously chaired the Service Providers Business Council Steering Committee and has been a member of the association for 12 years. Earlier in her career, she also worked on the staff of ELFA as a communications director.

Carol’s 30-year public relations career includes serving schools, the U.S. Army, and trade associations, as well as corporate and publishing companies. She is accredited in the Public Relations Society of America. Her firm, Susan Carol Associates Public Relations, was established in 1989.
