Encina Private Credit has appointed Matt Giamalis as senior vice president of originations, effective immediately.
Giamalis will focus on expanding the firm’s origination of first-out enterprise value loans across key industries, leveraging his background in corporate finance and private credit.
He previously held senior roles at Firmament, Capital One, and GE Capital, with expertise in healthcare, technology, media, and telecommunications. Most recently, he served as vice president of originations and special situations at Firmament, where he sourced and closed equity investments. Earlier, he led Capital One’s middle-market leveraged loan underwriting group and specialized in healthcare lending at GE Capital.
“Matt’s deep industry knowledge and extensive network in direct lending and private equity will be instrumental in driving our growth strategy,” Mike Hensinger, president and CEO of Encina Private Credit, said. “His proven ability to originate, structure, and underwrite complex financial products will enable Matt to enhance our market presence improve our ability to partner with direct lenders and private equity sponsors.”
Giamalis holds an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and a B.A. in economics from Hamilton College.
