Equipment Industry Experts Launch Fortis Consultancy

Fortis, a professional consultancy and provider of asset management and monitoring solutions for rental companies and fleet owners across the equipment industry, announced its official launch. The Fortis executive team will be led by Josh Mosko, Founder and CEO.

“Together, we possess more than a century of asset management and telematics expertise in the rental and equipment industry,” said Mosko. “Part of our value proposition is we have worked for rental, distributor, and OEM firms in various sales, operations, fleet, and product support roles. We understand the equipment, applications, and end-user expectations and the pain points of managing fleets from the field to the executive level.”

Fortis executives have been working to refine their solution, collaborating with strategic customers for extensive field testing. Today marks the first time their unique combination of expert consulting services and extensive product and solution offerings will be available to the marketplace. “I’m passionate about providing innovation to the industry, and I’m excited about the team we have assembled,” Mosko said.

For each engagement, the Fortis team begins with an assessment of fleet and customer needs. They also offer a free business strategy review and a demo of their recommended telematics solution. The demo illustrates the overall functionality and user interface of the system to monitor vehicles, engine-driven or non-engine-driven assets. Some of the standard features include:

  • Google Maps powered interface for GPS location and directions
  • Geofencing and grouping assets on a jobsite or project
  • Sort and filter assets by ownership, division, location, asset type and other criteria
  • Scroll over a particular asset and drill down to see equipment status, movement, and performance data
  • Asset icons and asset specific pictures to recognize various equipment, makes and models
  • Set-up alerts, generate push and pull reports
  • Maintenance program for individual or group assets or fleets
  • Hours of Service (HOS) compliance FMCSA Electronic Logging Device (ELD) application

Fortis then adds additional value with the customization of features based on the customer’s business needs. The solution integrates with technology tools through API’s in order to utilize cross-functional technology.

“Today’s customers want to understand how the machine is operating in specific applications as well as how it is being operated by a worker. There is an overwhelming amount of data available, so we help customers filter the data and create KPI’s and customize dashboards for their business needs,” Mosko said.

“A key differentiator is the way we customize hardware to monitor additional parameters on the equipment with analog and digital controls,” Mosko continued. “Furthermore, we have incorporated the ability to control settings, make adjustments over the air, start and stop, and troubleshoot equipment.”

This advanced telemetry monitoring allows proactive fleet management to identify performance trends and alert users of potential issues before failure occurs, preventing and/or minimizing downtime. It also supports predictive maintenance and rightsizing of parts inventory at locations or jobsites.

Mosko and the Fortis team also possess deep field experience, having built solutions for small and large fleets from inception to implementation. They have taken their collective knowledge and developed technology solutions that can be embedded into the workflow to streamline operations and fleet management, plus add value for customer service.
