First American Ranks No. 2 Among Best Companies to Work for in New York

First American Equipment Finance has been named the No. 2 Best Company to Work for in New York in the large company category, according to the 2025 rankings by Best Companies Group.

This marks the 14th consecutive year First American has appeared on the list, which recognizes workplaces across New York with outstanding employee satisfaction and organizational culture. The large company category includes businesses with more than 250 employees.

The rankings are based on a two-part survey conducted by Best Companies Group. Company policies, practices and demographics account for 25% of the score, while employee feedback makes up the remaining 75%.

“We are honored to be recognized among New York’s leading employers,” said Alan Sikora, CEO of First American. “I am grateful for our team of genuine, passionate colleagues who continue to elevate our culture each year, enabling our continued growth and success.”

Earlier this year, Energage named First American the No. 1 Top Midsize Workplace in Rochester and No. 9 Top Workplace USA. In 2024, the company also earned spots on several national workplace rankings by Fortune, Great Place to Work and PEOPLE magazine, including Best Workplace for Millennials and Best Workplace in Financial Services.

First American Equipment Finance, a subsidiary of City National Bank, is one of the largest equipment finance companies in the U.S., serving creditworthy commercial borrowers nationwide.

City National Bank, based in Los Angeles and a subsidiary of Royal Bank of Canada, had $90 billion in assets as of Jan. 31. The bank operates in several major markets across the U.S. and donated nearly $10 million to nonprofits in 2024.
