Fortune Names First American Equipment Finance One of the Best Workplaces for Parents

Fortune and Great Place to Work named First American Equipment Finance one of the 2021 Best Workplaces for Parents. This is First American’s first time being named to this list, with the company coming in 49th place.

The Best Workplaces for Parents ranking is based on survey responses from more than 6 million current employees. In the survey, 98% of First American’s employees said First American is a great place to work. This number is 39% higher than the average U.S. company, according to First American.

“My colleagues at First American have created an environment in which working parents can flourish in and out of the office,” Alan Sikora, CEO of First American Equipment Finance, said. “I am incredibly proud of my colleagues who continue to evolve the benefits, technology and culture at First American, supporting an inclusive workplace for all.”

First American offers benefits for parents including subsidized daycare costs, fertility treatment reimbursement, adoption support and parental leave. The company’s employee-led culture and communications team creates a calendar of family-friendly events each year, including a Halloween trunk or treat, amusement park outings, virtual cooking classes and an annual family picnic.

Over the past five years, First American’s new business volume has grown from $606 million in 2016 to $1.38 billion in 2021. During this time, the company has created 90 new positions at its Rochester, NY, headquarters.
