Gappmayer Joins Holland & Hart Commercial Finance Practice

Holland & Hart added Burke Gappmayer as a partner to the firm’s Commercial Finance practice in Salt Lake City. Gappmayer draws on a decade of specialty finance industry experience to deliver strategic counsel to lenders and borrowers across a wide range of industries.

“Burke’s comprehensive in-house experience navigating both transactional and litigation issues will be highly valuable to our clients seeking and offering traditional and non-traditional financing,” said Chris Gunlikson, Banking and Financial Services Practice group leader. “Holland & Hart is fortunate to have Burke return to the firm as he continues his practice.”

With both transactional and litigation experience in workouts and insolvency of distressed loans, Gappmayer has comprehensive experience with every facet of the loan lifecycle. Both lenders and borrowers benefit from his ability to proactively assess business and transactional issues and recommend terms and strategies that protect value and mitigate risk. As general counsel and chief legal officer for Summit Financial Resources, Gappmayer developed expertise in factoring and loans secured by accounts receivables, inventory, equipment, and other assets. He also gained extensive experience in advising clients on a broad spectrum of legal issues related to business, including corporate transactions and governance, business formation and structuring, contract drafting and negotiation, litigation, employment matters, and other general business needs.

“I am excited to return to Holland & Hart and work with this sophisticated and talented commercial finance team where I can offer my clients the benefits of a full-service law firm with a longstanding commitment to excellent client service,” said Gappmayer. “The transactional insights I gained as General Counsel allow me to bring a business-centric perspective to counsel lenders and borrowers to explore and take advantage of alternative financing opportunities.”

Holland & Hart’s Commercial Finance team represents lenders and borrowers in secured and unsecured credit facilities. The team counsels a wide array of national, regional, and community banks, credit unions, trust companies, the newly reactivated thrifts and agricultural/farm credit banks and other regulated lenders subject to financial institution division oversight.

Founded in 1947, Holland & Hart is a full-service Am Law 200 firm with offices in eight states and in Washington, D.C.
