HPE Financial Services Fiscal Q2/17 Revenue, Earnings Up Y/Y



Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) announced fiscal Q2/17 net revenue from continuing operations of $7.4 billion was down 13% from the prior-year period and down 5% when adjusted for divestitures and currency. HPE reported a net loss for the period of $612 million compared to earnings of $320 million in fiscal Q1/16.

The following highlights with regard to HPE’s Financial Services business were excerpted from the news release:

  • HPE Financial Services revenue was $872 million, up 10.7% compared to $788 million a year earlier. Pretax earnings of $78 million for the period compared to $73 million in the same quarter one year ago.
  • Net portfolio financing receivables of $3,229 million were down from $3,360 million at fiscal year-end October 31, 2016.
  • The financial services business delivered an operating margin of 8.9%, which was down from 9.3% for the same quarter a year earlier.
