ACT Research’s preliminary estimate for U.S. net trailer orders in June is 13,450 units.
“June’s net order volume was impacted by both low new order volume and higher cancellations. Both those factors result from an enhanced level of caution expressed by fleets over current business conditions,” said Frank Maly, ACT’s director of CV Transportation Analysis & Research. “While seasonal patterns suggest a modest month-over-month increase in net orders from May to June, this preliminary estimate of June order activity would indicate an approximate 8% sequential volume decline. The year-over-year comparison, against an extremely strong June 2015, shows net orders approximately half of last year’s volume.”
The final June net order number is expected to be within +/-5% of this preliminary estimate.
