Moritt Hock & Hamroff’s Cohen to Present on Post-COVID-19 Documentation at NEFA Summit

Robert S. Cohen of Moritt Hock & Hamroff (MH&H) will be presenting at the 2021 Virtual Finance Summit hosted by the National Equipment Finance Association on March 16 and March 17. Cohen will be a featured panelist for a one-hour session in the NEFA’s education and technology track entitled “Documentation in the Post-COVID World (E-notary/eDocs/Vaulting/Signer Verification).”

Cohen has written and spoken over the past year on how the COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated progress in adoption of electronic documentation by commercial lenders and lessors and their customers. An unabashed proponent of electronic documentation, Cohen says he sees its growth over the past year as perhaps a hidden benefit of the toll the pandemic has otherwise taken on many businesses.

“There’s no longer an excuse not to embrace e-documentation technology,” Cohen says. “If surviving the pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that now, more than ever before, we need to fully leverage digital solutions to document and close transactions virtually.”

Cohen is a partner at MH&H and leader of the firm’s secured lending and equipment finance (SL&EF) practice area. In addition to his role as leader of the SL&EF practice area, Cohen serves as co-chair of MH&H’s litigation practice group and is a member of its COVID-19 litigation task force group. He will be joined on the panel by Jennifer Foulds, documentation and funding specialist at Oakmont Capital Services; Kernard Jones, government affairs analyst at Notarize; and Greg Clark, senior solutions architect at Northteq. The panel will be moderated by Beth McLean, vice president of operations at Northland Capital.

“We are delighted to have Bob share his insight on this critical technology,” Marc L. Hamroff, managing partner of MH&H, said. “Our firm is committed to helping all of us navigate the increasingly difficult waters the pandemic has presented over the past year, and Bob’s presentation at the NEFA Virtual Summit will do just that.”

Cohen’s session will start on March 16 at 1:30 p.m. EST. Pre-registration for the presentation is required by the NEFA and can be completed here.
