M&T Bank named John Wolfe line of business manager for commercial equipment finance, effective April 1. Wolfe has been with M&T for 36 years and has served as the director of business development for commercial equipment finance during the past 10 years. Prior to joining M&T’s commercial equipment finance group, Wolfe served as finance senior segment advisor for the commercial bank.
This announcement comes after Frank Campagna, who current serves as line of business manager for commercial equipment finance, announced his plans to retire, effective July 2, after a 43-year career in commercial equipment finance, including 20 years at M&T. Before joining M&T, Campagna held leadership positions with IPS, DataServ-BellSouth, CSA Financial and GE Capital.
At M&T, Campagna built the original municipal leasing group inside of the commercial equipment finance group and headed the rail financing business. He then took over as the head of business development and line of business manager for the commercial equipment finance group. Throughout his 20-year tenure with M&T, Campagna participated in growing M&T’s commercial equipment finance business from $40 million to $1 billion in annual new originations. Campagna will remain in an advisory role for the commercial equipment finance group until his retirement, reporting to Wolfe.
“John has been instrumental in growing our CEF practice. His thought leadership expertise and innovative deal-making acumen has been such an asset to us over the past 10 years. I’m very excited to see what all he will accomplish in his new role,” Campagna said.
