Northern Leasing Issues Statement on AG Settlement

In a letter to the Monitor, Northern Leasing issued the following statement regarding the company’s settlement with the NY Attorney General:

“Northern Leasing prides itself on the fairness of its business practices and the open dialogue we maintain with our merchants.

We resolved the dispute with the Office of the Attorney General of the State of New York because it was not in the best interest of our company or our merchants to continue a long and protracted litigation.

The Consent Order & Judgment with the State of New York states: ‘Nothing contained in this Consent Order shall be construed as an admission or denial by Respondents of any liability, wrongdoing or legal or factual issue.’

We have served over one million merchants since 1991. One of the reasons we’ve been so successful during those 22 years is that we take merchant issues very seriously.”
