Phoenix Aviation Capital, a full-service aircraft lessor, has acquired a Boeing 787-8 on long-term lease with LOT Polish Airways, the company announced Wednesday.
The aircraft, bearing manufacturer serial number 35942, is a 2014 Boeing 787-8 powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines. The transaction builds on an existing relationship between Phoenix and LOT; in September 2024, Phoenix placed four Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft on long-term lease with the Polish flag carrier.
Phoenix Aviation Capital is managed by AIP Capital, a global investment firm specializing in asset-based finance. Vinson & Elkins LLP served as transaction counsel, and KPMG acted as tax advisor to AIP Capital.
Based in Dublin, Phoenix Aviation Capital focuses on financing modern, in-demand aircraft and serves airline customers worldwide. AIP Capital, which manages approximately $4 billion in assets, operates out of offices in Stamford, New York City, Dublin, and Singapore.
