Report: Macquarie Eyeing GE Capital’s Helicopter Unit

According to an article that appeared in the Australian Financial Review, the Macquarie Group is interested in GE’s helicopter leasing and finance division, Milestone Aviation Group.

The Review noted that Macquarie already has its own rotorcraft leasing unit. It was launched roughly four years ago, with a fleet of both medium and heavy twin-engine helicopters.

The Review said, citing information on GE’s website, that GE’s helicopter fleet is worth more than $4 billion with related debt commitments of $400 million.
