Ritchie Bros. Sells $50MM of Equipment Fort Worth Auction

Ritchie Bros. conducted its fourth Fort Worth, TX auction of the year, selling more than $50 million worth of equipment and trucks for over 600 consignors.

More than 5,000 people from 52 countries registered to bid in the September 25 – 26, 2018 auction, including 3,650 people registering to bid online. U.S. buyers purchased approximately 90% of the equipment, including 47% purchased by Texas buyers, while international buyers from such countries as Mexico, Australia and the UK purchased 10% of the equipment. Online buyers purchased 51% of the assets.

“Following up on the strong numbers we saw in Houston in August and equipment sold in our recent weekly IronPlanet auctions, we had another great Texas auction this week in Fort Worth,” said Neal Black, Ritchie Bros. regional sales manager. “We had a great selection of late-model yellow iron in the auction that performed very well. We also saw strong pricing for transportation gear, including a package of more than 80 like-kind pneumatic bulk trailers that exceeded expectations.”

More than 3,850 equipment items were sold in the Fort Worth auction, including 310+ truck tractors, 100+ skid steers, 85+ excavators, 65+ compactors, 60+ loader backhoes, 45+ dozers, as well as cranes, oil and gas-related equipment and more. All items were sold without minimum bids or reserve prices.

Ritchie Bros. currently has more than 40,000 equipment items, trucks, and other assets listed for sale in its upcoming onsite unreserved auctions, IronPlanet weekly online auctions, Marketplace-E and its other marketplaces.
