SeaCube, a company known for leasing refrigerated intermodal equipment, has launched SeaCube Cold Solutions, a portable cold storage service aimed at food industry businesses seeking to rent or purchase refrigerated containers.
The new service is designed to support the storage needs of grocers, distributors, and others handling perishable goods by offering refrigerated containers—also known as reefers—with flexible rental and purchase options. According to the company, the service includes access to what it claims is the largest fleet of refrigerated containers in the portable cold storage industry and the only network with nationwide coverage.
SeaCube said the containers are built to maintain temperatures from -20°F to 80°F and are constructed with stainless steel and aluminum interiors. The units are USDA-compliant and available in 20-foot and 40-foot sizes, with the option to be grounded or mounted on chassis.
The company pointed to increasing challenges around food storage, particularly for products like meat, seafood, dairy, fruits, vegetables, and flowers. SeaCube’s refrigerated containers are powered electrically, offering what the company says is a lower-emission alternative to diesel-powered storage.
Bob Sappio, CEO of SeaCube, said the service provides a streamlined solution for businesses that need cold storage in multiple locations.
“Whether businesses require temporary storage during peak demand or a long-term solution, this service offers flexibility and accessibility,” Sappio said.
SeaCube’s containers are available for rental nationwide.
SeaCube Container Leasing is one of the largest purchasers and lessors of refrigerated containers worldwide. The company focuses on equipment investment, service reliability, and environmentally focused innovations.
