According to Transport Topics, citing comments made by FTR economist Noel Perry, improved profits are on the horizon for truckload carriers and freight brokers in late 2017, but not at the levels seen earlier this decade.

Transport Topics also noted that Perry warned of an impending recession as the economy continues its weak recovery since 2009.
