SKY Leasing Completes Successful Launch Year

Over the course of its launch year, SKY Leasing originated an initial portfolio of 18 aircraft with an appraised value of approximately $1 billion and diversified globally across 14 different lessees including Aeroméxico, China Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, Malindo Air and Volaris.

SKY Leasing said it successfully established itself as a creative and flexible capital provider to airlines pursuing fleet financing solutions for both new deliveries and existing capacity, and to established lessors seeking trading partners with the ability to execute large portfolio acquisitions.

In 2016, SKY Leasing built on its successful track record in the bank debt market, raising approximately $900 million of total financing between its previously announced warehouse financing facility, which included eight leading global aviation banks, and two new bilateral loans with Cathay United and Nord LB. SKY Leasing has significant debt capital committed to finance its 2017 growth plans.

“I am proud of the SKY Leasing team’s execution in 2016 and the foundation that we put in place for future growth,” said Rich Wiley, chief executive officer of SKY Leasing. “SKY Leasing sees tremendous opportunity in 2017 and is positioned to be a capital provider both to airlines and secondary market participants who are looking to rebalance their fleets and adapt to changing macroeconomic trends. With the continued support of our shareholders, we are focused on scaling the platform, which has the capabilities to originate $1.0 billion in aircraft transactions annually.”

With its targeted approach to origination, SKY Leasing said it aims to build a best-in-class portfolio of aircraft that are core assets to its airline customers. Over the next several years, SKY Leasing is poised to play an important role in providing flexible capital to airlines seeking capacity management and financing solutions.

SKY Leasing and its affiliates are a premier aircraft leasing group with headquarters in Dublin, Ireland and a regional office in San Francisco, California. SKY Leasing is owned by ATL Partners, PSP Investments and members of management who have partnered to support SKY Leasing in its corporate mission of being a leading capital provider to commercial airlines and to the secondary market globally.
