Reuters reported that that Thomson Reuters/PayNet Small Business Lending Index rose to 129.7 in December, up from the 129.1 mark recorded in November.

Reuters noted that although the index achieved a month-over-month increase, the reading marked the sixth year-over-year decrease in the last seven months.

Reuters also noted that in Q4/16 the U.S. economy grew at an annual pace of 1.9%.
