Solar Funding Down While Project Acquisitions Soar



According to a report released by Mercom Capital Group, total global corporate funding in the solar sector decreased to $5.9 billion in Q2/15 compared to the $6.4 billion mar set in Q1/15.

However, large scale project acquisitions took an incredible leap with a total of $2.9 billion generated across 66 projects, In Q1/15, there were 44 transactions totaling $953 million.

Raj Prabhu, CEO of Mercom Capital Group, noted that residential and commercial solar funds continue to be an attractive sector for funding, setting a record high of $1.93 million in funds in the quarter.

Additionally, public market financing set a new high watermark with $2.3 billion in the quarter, a boost from the $1.3 billion mark set in Q1.
