Stonebriar Adds Two Managing Directors to Originations Team

Stonebriar Commercial Finance added two managing directors to its originations team.

James Paterson and Vince Cornell joined Stonebriar as managing directors responsible for the development and management of relationships with clients, prospects and referral sources in the West and Southeast markets, respectively.

Paterson brings decades of asset-based lending experience to Stonebriar from organizations including East West Bank, Ares, PNC, CIT and GE Capital. Based in Los Angeles, CA, James will leverage his long-standing Western U.S. and Canadian relationships in an effort to identify opportunities whereby Stonebriar provided fixed asset secured liquidity and growth capital supports the continued success of its lessees and borrowers.

Based in Fort Lauderdale, FL, Cornell joins Stonebriar with a robust background in structured leasing and capital advisory for asset heavy, growth-oriented companies. His prior experience and vast network of contacts gained at Bulk Express, Cost & Capital Consulting, Ameris Bank, Fleet Advantage and PACCAR Leasing will drive his efforts to originate secured lease and loan opportunities that creatively address the capital needs of Southeast U.S. obligors and referral sources.

“James and Vince bring valuable expertise and experience to our team, joining a sourcing effort that has yielded over $1.8 billion of new originations year to date,” Nicholas Sandler, president of Stonebriar, said. “I welcome them to Stonebriar and look forward to the relationships and opportunities they will develop.”
