SunTrust Adds Three Hires to Originations Team



SunTrust Equipment Finance & Leasing announced three hires to its originations team. All three will provide coverage in either the East or Midwest regions.

Jason Center was named director of originations of the greater Washington region and will be responsible for commercial and not-for-profit and government clients in Maryland, DC and northern Virginia. Center joins SunTrust with over 16 years of financial services experience, most recently with Bridge Funding Group where he was vice president. Prior to that, he spent time at PNC Equipment Finance and BB&T Equipment Finance. Center is based out of Baltimore and will report to Joe Hines, managing director of Commercial/Not-for-Profit & Government.

Chris Hobbs was named vice president of originations for the Carolinas region and will be responsible for commercial clients in North Carolina and South Carolina. Hobbs joins SunTrust with over 20 years of financial services experience, most recently with BB&T where he was vice president of National Large Corporate Account Executives. Prior to BB&T, Hobbs spent time at Wells Fargo and GE Capital. Hobbs is based out of Raleigh, NC and also will report to Hines.

Dave Rooney was named director of originations and will be responsible for corporate banking in the Midwest region. Rooney joins SunTrust with over 18 years of financial services experience, most recently with GE Capital, where he was senior vice president of Corporate Finance. Prior to that, he spent time at The PrivateBank & Trust Company and LaSalle Bank National Association. Rooney is based out of Chicago and will report to Arick Levine, managing director of Corporate Banking.
