SunTrust, Apollo, Ares Said to be Interested in GE Sponsor Unit



Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the matter, that SunTrust, Apollo Global Management and Ares Management are weighing offers for a GE unit in the U.S. that lends to private-equity firms.

Bloomberg notes that GE is working with Citigroup to sell the business, which could fetch more than $10 billion.

Bloomberg said, according to an investor presentation, GE has about $16 billion invested in its private-equity group.
