Tiger Group Will Auction Off Equipment from S&S Screw Machine Company

Tiger Group will conduct an online-only offering of well-maintained buildings, CNC machining, screw machines, drill presses, grinders, tools, plant support and other assets of S&S Screw Machine Company, a machining, fabrication and coating company that served the automotive industry.

Online bidding for the assets will commence on October 10 and will close in rapid succession, live auction style on October 17. Turnkey operation offers will also be considered, with bids due by September 30.

S&S Precision’s facilities include three separate buildings totaling approximately 90,000 square feet on 13 acres, with an assumable lease at a very competitive rate. The main building is approximately 52,000 square feet with 25,000 square feet of mezzanine space, accompanied by separate buildings with approximately 8,000 and 5,000 square feet of space.

Previews of the assets being offered in the auction will be held on October 16.

“Auto parts or screw manufacturing companies, in addition to other manufacturers or M&E dealers, will be interested in this opportunity to purchase at auction a wide range of well-maintained assets,” said Jeff Tanenbaum, executive managing director of Tiger Commercial & Industrial. “For potential turnkey buyers, this represents a unique business opportunity to acquire a modern, professional company offering a very broad range of capabilities in machining, fabrication and coating. As a Tier 2 supplier, S&S Precision specialized in making spring pins/bushings and shackles for the suspension systems of PACCAR trucks, as well as about 800 different parts for various other companies in the automotive industry.”

“The Sparta location offers easy access to the Upper Cumberland Regional Airport and is attractive from a business, tax and employee work-pool perspective, and for transportation-distribution purposes,” said Matt DelGuidice, senior VP of Tiger Commercial & Industrial.

CNC milling machines and lathes available for sale include models by brands like Mazak, Fadal, Mitsui, Miyano and Mori Seiki. Additional equipment includes a Brother TC-31A tapping machine, drill presses and more. Screw machines include 11 Davenports, of which four are model B; seven Acme Gridley units; seven manufactured by Greenlee; a Brown and Sharpe Ultramatic R/S.

A five-stage Deimco powder coat line with manual and automatic sprayers, built in 2000, will also be up for bid. Plant support equipment includes Yale & Daewoo forklifts with up to 20,000-pound capacity.

Additional equipment includes presses by Bliss Niagara, Minster and Minster OBI; cut-off and band saws by names like Daito and AO Smith; mills by Trump, Bridgeport, Milwaukee, Chevalier and TRM; a Cleveland 100-ton ironworker; four Cincinnati centerless grinders and Tornado, Monarch and Hardinge lathes.
