Top Five Logging Equipment Lenders Account for 68.3% of January Total



Statistical data for the logging equipment market provided by EDA showed the top 20 lenders in the segment, in the aggregate, filed financing statements covering a total of 265 logging equipment related filings during the month of January 2018.

The top five lenders, in units, included:

  • DLL (55)
  • Wells Fargo (includes Wells Fargo Vendor Financial Services, Wells Fargo Equipment Finance and Wells Fargo Bank) (43)
  • John Deere (37)
  • Caterpillar Financial Services (31)
  • BB&T Equipment Finance (15)

The top five accounted for 68.3% of the total, or 181 units. The top lender, DLL, accounted for a 20.8% share of the total.

The top five logging equipment buyers (location/brands/filings) included:

  • Penn Line Service (Pennsylvania/Morbark/15)
  • Jaflo (Pennsylvania/Altec/6)
  • Mario’s Tree Service (California/Morbark/5)
  • RJ Berra (Maryland/Duratech and Morbark/3)
  • Jones Logging Company of Craven (North Carolina/CSI and CAT/3)
