Bank of America has appointed Ruben Torres as president of its El Paso market, the company announced.
Torres, a financial services veteran with 25 years of experience, will lead the bank’s local operations, focusing on client relationships and community engagement. He replaces Kristi Marcum, who led the El Paso market for nearly a decade and will continue as Merrill senior resident director.
“Kristi has made a lasting impact in El Paso by delivering the full breadth of Bank of America’s services and expanding market share,” Bank of America Chairman and CEO Brian Moynihan said in a statement. “Ruben is well positioned to help our clients improve their financial lives and drive responsible growth.”
Torres, who also serves as a senior relationship manager for Global Commercial Banking, has worked in private equity, financial advisory, public finance, and commercial banking. A native of El Paso, he is the former president of the El Paso Downtown Management District and currently serves as vice chair of Workforce Solutions Borderplex.
During Marcum’s tenure, Bank of America saw record employee engagement in El Paso and directed a major grant to the La Nube STEAM Discovery Center.
Bank of America operates approximately 3,700 financial centers and serves 69 million consumer and small business clients nationwide.
